Carbon Offsetting For Funerals—Aylesbury

At Mears of Aylesbury, we are committed to offering meaningful and sustainable farewell ceremonies. In partnership with Tree Nation, we provide families with the opportunity to offset the carbon emissions generated by a funeral through tree planting in the UK. For £95, trees are planted to offset 340kg of carbon emissions, including those produced by our private ambulance, hybrid hearse, cremation, and related activities. Additional trees can also be purchased for £5 each to offset limousine travel if requested. Beyond funerals, the carbon footprint of our 12 branches is offset through Tree Nation’s CO2 Neutral Team scheme, with 26 trees planted each month to balance electricity, office materials, and staff commutes. Families and friends attending a funeral may also choose to plant extra trees in memory of a loved one, creating a lasting legacy that nurtures both cherished memories and the natural world.
